GOOD LUCK FBLA TEAM!
The Redhawks' FBLA team is embarking on an exciting journey today. They are setting off to participate in the state competition, which is taking place in Spokane. Over the next two days, the team will be competing against students from all corners of the state.
The FBLA team has been preparing for this moment for weeks, and they are eager to showcase their skills and knowledge. They have been working diligently to refine their strategies, improve their presentations, and master the material. The team is looking forward to this opportunity to test themselves and learn from their experiences.
Let's GO Redhawks!
Weather permitting on Tuesday, May 7th, the 5th-grade students along with the 9th and 10th-grade biology class will be releasing salmon into the Touchet River from 8-10 am.
If your child is a part of this field trip, please ensure that you have signed the permission slip and that they wear appropriate attire for being at the river, including long-sleeved shirts, pants, and shoes they don't mind getting muddy.
We are looking for talented and enthusiastic high school students who want to be a Redhawk cheerleader for the upcoming 2024-2025 football and basketball season.
If you're interested, please join us in the library this Thursday, April 25th. Mrs. Castillo and Mrs. Morales will provide more details. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to be a part of our team and spread school spirit!
Look what 2nd Grade Music class is up to!
They have been working very hard this year and are now ready for third-grade music next year.
In the last couple of weeks, several of them have asked for piano music to take home and practice. Last week, we had our first group piano lesson where they learned to play the first part of Jingle Bells. We will continue to work on it this week.
REDHAWK HAPPENINGS THIS WEEK!
April 22-27th
There's a lot happening this week at Touchet School! Our middle school softball and baseball teams will be playing their first games, and we're also holding senior recognition during the doubleheader vs. Sunnyside Christian in high school baseball on Saturday!
Let's show our support for the FBLA students who are headed to Spokane for the state competition on Wednesday. Additionally, WWCC is hosting a "Try a Trade" event on Wednesday, and there will be a tour of SeaTech on Thursday. The school board meeting is also scheduled for Thursday night. Finally, WAHSET is participating in their competition and will be leaving on Thursday.
Don't forget that iReady testing is taking place over the next couple of weeks. Let's give our kids the best chance at success by encouraging them, ensuring they eat healthily, and get lots of sleep!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to remind you that the iReady district assessment is scheduled to take place in the next two weeks. This assessment is an important tool that helps our district track student progress and growth. It is crucial that your children get enough rest, eat breakfast, and come prepared for the assessment. The data collected from the assessment is used to plan next year's classes for middle and high school students, to ensure that they are ready and prepared for college-level classes, and to assist with their transition plans.
We appreciate your support in ensuring that your children are well-rested and prepared to take the assessment. Your cooperation is vital to the success of this assessment, and we thank you for your help.

Third to fifth-grade students from Touchet joined other valley students for the annual Walla Walla Symphony Link Up concert.
During the event, they enjoyed listening, singing, and dancing with our local orchestra. This year's concert theme was "The Orchestra Rocks," and our students learned that classical music and rock music are very similar.
Touchet School District wants to inform you of a local road closure on Thursday, April 18th from 6 am to 4 pm, in conjunction with the construction of the new community library.
This closure will affect access to the school. Hence, if you have conferences scheduled on that day, please note access to the school must be obtained from Hanson Rd instead of Touchet North.
The 1st Annual Touchet Hackathon is scheduled for Friday, April 19th, starting at 11:30 am.
In this hackathon, Touchet students will participate in a Lego Robotics competition where they will design and build a robot in a single day.
The Touchet Robotics Team invites kids ranging from 3rd grade to 12th grade to create a First Lego League legal robot with them. Anyone from the Touchet community is welcome to watch and offer help. You can also grab some food while you're at it! No prior experience or commitment is needed to participate.
In case you're not interested in building robots, there will be other activities too. Students will be creating their AP Computer Science Principles apps or working on video games in Game Lab or Unity.
